In denial - Obesity

The lack of sizes in clothing department.
The lack of interesting clothes to wear.
The increased size.
The increased appetite.
The increased clothes-i-love-but-i-can't-wear.
Finally, this picture:

Our raya 2013 picture where I no longer have cheekbones, and added another chin.
I'm so deep in denial and good food, that my weight scaled up from 70 ( 3 years ago) to...
91kg...

Mother of all horror!

What happened??
It's not an overnight process, I guess I'm just used to eating out so much that it becomes uncontrollable.
So now, I'm taking my life back, put it on track, and will be making a difference.
I need to, as my husband and son need me.
Not the fatty, obese me, but the old me, slimmer than now.
I look ugly in picturesss.
I'm stressing out~
Luckily hubs and my bff Winnie is encouraging me, goes as far as asking her friend who is pro in losing weight.
Thanks babe.
I'll try to do my best!

I have successfully given up buying magazine (four months and counting!)
If the magazine which is my life and blood since I can't even remember when I could kick out, so does this!
I'll be documenting this, and today is DAY TWO.

But I did a few mistakes already.
Haha.
First, day one lunch - KFC. because all the shops are closed
Dinner - Kue tiaw with egg - Kue tiaw is a no no
Day two - Lunch - Chicken chop - oily oily fried stuff

Other than that, I'm drinking and not snacking!
Which is amazing, since I snack a lot.
So yeah, no more snacking!
Good Luck, Katie!

Life in a month: recipes, mini getaway and getting ready for Ramadhan!

Hey peeps!

Cik Keyaan now freaking active, and was missing daddy as daddy went on boys holiday on the weekend.
Last night, he finally could sleep well and not waking up every hour.
Me and my bff ate out on Saturday, and as we put Cik Keyaan on his chair, he put one leg up, and I snap a pic!

Recipes as below:

Chicken Porridge with side egg

300ml Chicken broth
Strips of chicken
Spring onion
Fried onion
Egg
Rice
Salt and pepper
1 onion, minced
2 garlic, minced
Oil

Heat the oil in rice cooker, throw in the onions and garlic and translucent, then put in the broth, and the rice.
Wait until it fully cook.
Serve with egg, a sprinkle of spring onion and fried onion.

Mushroom Soup and Cheese Toast

Cheese toast :

Get a french bread, slice into 2cm thick, put the cheese on top of the bread and bake.

Mushroom soup:

I use three different mushroom, the usual white one, the black/brown tip and the shitake.(300gram)
25 ml Heavy cream
500ml Chicken broth
2 large onion, chopped
3 garlic, chopped
3 tsp butter
salt and pepper.

Get a large pan, and melt the butter in it.
Throw in the mushroom for about 8 to 10 minutes, next put in the garlic and onion.
Once the onions turn translucent, put in the broth.
Simmer for another 15 minutes or so, next, blend half to 3/4 of the broth (I blend all, because I can't follow a simple recipe).
Then, put the blended broth in the broth again, heat it up and pour the heavy cream.
Ready to serve.

Baked potato

Ingredients:

4 flat potato
Half cup spring onion
A cup of cut up hotdogs
Cheese
Salt and Pepper

Boil the potato until they are soft but not breakable.
Cut the top open, and scoop the potato out in a container.
Mash it up, and put in the other ingredients.
Spoon it back in the potato and put some cheese, salt and pepper, and baked for 15 mins, depending on your setting.
Ready to serve.
(The above pic is the left over of the potato jacket, which we just baked in another pan)

Lasagna with mushroom, beef and spinach.

1 packet of minced beef, roughly 300g
100g spinach
150g mushroom
1 packet lasagna
1 bottle of prego sauce
1 large onion, minced

Oil

In a pan, heat up some oil, and put in the onion and garlic.
Next, put in the minced beef until it turns brown.
Put in the mushroom.
Lastly, put in the prego sauce.

Wash the spinach and dry it.

Cheese Sauce.
Heat up 150 ml milk, and pour in 4 tsp of flour. Whisk.
Put in 50g or more cheese, Whisk.

Take some of the beef sauce, put in it a shallow pan, next line the lasagna, and the beef, spinach and cheese sauce.

175 gram Butter
2 Eggs
2 tsp Vanilla
125ml Milk

Mix in butter, sugar, egg, milk .
Once nicely incorporate, put in the flour, cocoa, vanilla, baking soda, bicarbonate.
(Or since I'm lazy, I put everything in the mixer and blend it all together)
Next, put in the pan and baked for 35 minutes, depending on your setting.

Baked Spaghetti

I just made spaghetti, toss it in prego sauce, put some green peas, put it in a pan, put some meatloaf on top, sprinkle the cheese, walla~

Last three weeks:

We went to Batu Layar, Johor on Sunday.
We did BBQ and went swimming for hours!
We went to beach spontaneously, so there's a lot of thing we didn't pack!
Like knife, towel, fire starter for BBQ, utensils, toys for Cik Keyaan, plates, cooking oil and such.
But we did have a blast!

Here's some of the pics we took the other day:

Arrived at destination and took pics of us! Cik Khyru is trying to work out the BBQ.

Us after all the swimming

I gave Cik Keyaan his first cucumber to eat and then he played with it..

The wrinkle toes.

Cik Keyaan with Daddy

His cute giraffe swimmer.

Sandwiches. Yums...

The other food that we bbq.

Last two weeks

Cik Keyaan got his bunny, Tiramitu from my sis, Khadijah.
He love it, now always hugging him when he's sleeping.

I craveee for Nasi with Durian.
My late Dad loved nasi, santan, gula and durian so much.
Once he's gone, no one else make it anymore.
But I did.
And it was amazing after nearly two years without it.
I'm going to do it again.

Last week

First day was a lot of kuih, cendol, kathira, n my mom made nasi with daging sate.

We watch Despicable Me 2.
I taught he's going to sleep or cry.
He did neither!
He freaking loves it.
He sit on me like I'm a plush sofa, and watch the whole movie!
OMG.

Home sweet home

Hey all!
Remember few month back(on my birthday) I told ya my hub finally settle down on a house?
Yes!
So it has been a long journey and we probably will get the house next month!
Woohoo!
So exciting!
Since we took a loan more than our house cost us, we have a few extra cash in hand.
Luckily the house has been done before, with kitchen cabinets and laundry room, lighting and stuff.
So we decide to pay the house early for two months first (in any case we are late with payment) , bought a new fridge (ours doesn't freeze water. Sigh) and few cans of paint!
We would only decorate with what we have first, and we'll see what else left from the cash, and probably buy small stuff first.
I'm truly ecstatic and starting to think about the house already.
My second sis also bought a house (althou hers are new and she got loads of money saved to buy stuff already! I'm envioussss. Haha.) so we probably get the house around the same time.
Woohoo! Double happiness for us!
We will try to get some easy diy stuff for our house, if hubby is rajin enough to help me.
For now, I've already made a small list of things to buy, mostly to organize stuff, especially when your hubby is a clean freak, you'll need all the help you can!
Since we have 4 rooms, we'll have master bedroom, 1 room for Cik Keyaan, 1 room for my craft stuff, and another guest room. We're still figuring out whether the guest stay on top level or bottom.
The thing is, I already forgot how my house looks like, and where it is. :(
Since it's so long ago, we've forgotten...
Sigh..

Oh well
I also still have tons of glass, utensils and dinner ware from our wedding. So will finally find them a good home to store them!
I'm excitedly excited, and I'm virtually shopping on Ikea and Daiso. Cheap, reliable stuff.
Hopefully can get everything done before raya so I can invite most of my friends for a real celebration!
I'm dreaming of house parties and what not, for my tight circle of friends and his too many friends :p
Hoping to have you soon, homey! XD

Weekend update: Ayer hitam.

Hello readers.

Last week, I did a bouquet for my friend's hub.
It was made with 6 white roses, button mums, purple statice and white aster.
I've send it in a box, and I will send it in bigger box next time.

The bouquet.

This kid is now a champion in flipping.
Seen here, not even 2 minutes arrived at mom's house he's already flipping. =.=

Went dinner with sista and brother.
Yums!
No picture taken. haha

The kid is so hungry, the nipple was squished.

Going to Ayer Hitam to buy goodies.
Buying a lot of dulang for sewa and hantaran.
*pakai baju ex daddy katanya. huahahahaa.
This shirt was given by my ex bf, and hub was teasing me, ahh this is ur ex daddy, he give u this shirt, bla2. No way Jose!*

We at Ayer Hitem.
The kid was serious because it's too bright. Teehee.

Here's the loot.

I did a two face diaper cake for my sis' friend's new born

The kid is sitting down with Daddy watching TV shows. Daddy making faces. Grr

The kid milestone(4m2w)that I can think off:
1. Able to flip front to back, back to front
2. Able to grasp on toy and pass from right hand to left hand and vice versa
3. Sit without toppling.
4. Grasp on my baju/tudung when I hold him
